About This Drink
Tiger's Blood Piña Colada Smoothie

The Tigers Blood Pina Colada Smoothie is a caffeine-free blended fruit smoothie from 7 Brew that combines the chains Tigers Blood flavor - the classic snow cone blend of strawberry, watermelon, and coconut - with a tropical pina colada puree, then blends both into 7 Brews proprietary ice cream mix. It contains 0mg of caffeine in every size, runs from roughly 230 calories in the 10oz Kids size to about 720 calories in the 32oz Large, and is priced at $3.75 (Kids), $5.25 (Small), $6.25 (Medium), and $7.25 (Large).

Here is the part most people get wrong: 7 Brew smoothies are not juice-bar smoothies. There is no fresh banana, no frozen strawberries, no yogurt. 7 Brew builds every smoothie from fruit-flavored purees blended with a dairy-based ice cream mix that behaves like a thick vanilla cream. That is exactly why Milk shows up as an allergen on all of them, and it is why this drink tastes closer to a strawberry-coconut milkshake than to a smoothie you would blend at home. If you have ever had a soft-serve twist at a beach boardwalk, that is the texture family you are in.

The Tigers Blood and pina colada pairing is a double-coconut build, which is what makes this one of the more coherent custom combos on the secret menu board. Tigers Blood already carries coconut alongside the strawberry and watermelon, and pina colada layers in pineapple plus a second, creamier coconut note. Instead of fighting each other, the two flavors stack: the strawberry and watermelon handle the bright, candy-red front end while pineapple and coconut carry the finish. It is a drive-thru-only order, since 7 Brew has no lobbies anywhere in its footprint, and it is one of the few menu items you can hand to a five-year-old and a caffeine-sensitive adult without a single adjustment. Ask for it by name - most crews recognize it instantly, and the ones who do not just need Tigers Blood plus pina colada in a smoothie.

TASTE

What Does the 7 Brew Tiger's Blood Piña Colada Smoothie Taste Like?

The first thing you notice is aroma, before the straw even reaches your mouth - sun-warm strawberry and toasted coconut, with a faint pineapple tang underneath. It smells like a snow cone stand next to a tiki bar.

The first sip leads with strawberry: sweet, candy-forward, unmistakably the syrupy strawberry of shaved ice rather than a fresh-picked berry. A half-second later the watermelon arrives and widens the flavor out, adding that cool, slightly green, almost bubblegum quality watermelon syrup always has. Mid-sip the pina colada takes over and the whole drink changes character - pineapple brings a soft acidity that keeps the sweetness from turning flat, and the coconut doubles up with the coconut already inside Tigers Blood to create a genuinely creamy, sunscreen-in-a-good-way tropical finish.

Texture is thick but not gritty. Because the ice cream mix does the heavy lifting instead of frozen fruit, there are no seeds, no fibrous bits, and no icy shards if the crew blends it properly - it pulls up the straw like a medium-thick milkshake and stays smooth as it melts. The aftertaste is coconut and strawberry cream that lingers for a good minute.

Sweetness level is high, honestly. On a 1-to-10 scale, full-sweet lands around an 8.5. If you generally find snow cones or milkshakes too sweet, order it at half-sweet and it drops to about a 6 while keeping every layer of the flavor intact.

INGREDIENTS

What's Actually in the 7 Brew Tiger's Blood Piña Colada Smoothie?

Ice Cream Mix A dairy-based liquid base 7 Brew blends into every smoothie and shake - thick, lightly sweetened, and vanilla-leaning. It is the reason this drink lists Milk as an allergen and why the texture reads milkshake rather than juice.
Tigers Blood Syrup Blend The classic snow cone flavor: strawberry and watermelon with a coconut backbone. Supplies the candy-red front end and the first layer of coconut.
Pina Colada Puree A pineapple-and-coconut cream puree that adds body, a touch of fruit acidity, and the second, richer coconut layer that defines the finish.
Ice Blended in to set thickness. Ask for light ice for a denser, more milkshake-like pour or extra ice for a lighter, more slushy consistency.
Whipped Cream (optional) Standard topping on request, adds roughly 60-80 calories on a Medium. Say no whip to skip it.

Ingredients may vary by location. Always confirm with your barista.

First Time?

How to Order the Tiger's Blood Piña Colada Smoothie for the First Time

Order this the first time as a Small (16oz), half-sweet, no whipped cream. That is the single best entry point. Full-sweet in a Large is where most first-timers get overwhelmed - the drink is delicious but the sugar load flattens the pineapple and watermelon by the halfway mark, and 32oz of anything this rich is a lot to finish before it melts.

Say it at the window exactly like this: Can I get a small Tigers Blood Pina Colada smoothie, half sweet, no whip. If the crew member hesitates, follow with Tigers Blood and pina colada blended together as a smoothie - that phrasing works at every location.

Two expectation-setters before you pull up. First, this will taste like a milkshake, not a juice-bar smoothie, because the base is a dairy ice cream mix rather than frozen fruit. If that is not what you want, ask for it blended with oat or almond milk instead. Second, the strawberry note is snow-cone strawberry, not fresh berry - that is by design and it is the whole charm of Tigers Blood.

Drink it within about 20 minutes for the best texture. Once the ice cream mix warms up it separates slightly and the coconut turns heavy. If you know you are a slow sipper, ask for light ice and a Small so the drink stays concentrated instead of watering out.

Pro tip: Don't be afraid to ask your brewista for recommendations — they love helping first-timers!

How to get a drink similar to the Tiger's Blood Piña Colada Smoothie at other coffee chains

Similar flavored espresso drink
How to Order

Starbucks discontinued its entire smoothie line years ago and stopped stocking bananas in US stores in May 2022, so there is no blended fruit-and-dairy drink to match. The closest you can get is a Venti Strawberry Creme Frappuccino with two pumps of coconut syrup and one pump of pineapple ginger syrup if the store carries it - ask for it blended with whole milk. It will be sweeter, thinner, and more artificial-tasting than the 7 Brew version, and it will not have the watermelon note at all.

Key Difference

7 Brew uses a breve (half-and-half) base while Starbucks uses 2% milk by default. 7 Brew is typically creamier and sweeter.

Similar flavored drink
How to Order

Dutch Bros does not carry named smoothie combos, so you build it: ask for a large smoothie with strawberry, coconut, and pineapple flavors. Important difference - Dutch Bros smoothies are typically dairy-free by default and lean fruity and sorbet-like, so the result is brighter and icier rather than creamy. If you want it closer to 7 Brew, ask them to add sweet cream or blend it with half-and-half.

Key Difference

Dutch Bros tends to run slightly sweeter. Both are drive-thru only chains with a similar vibe.

7 Brew Large (32oz): $7.25 = about $0.23 per ounce. Starbucks Venti Creme Frappuccino (24oz): roughly $6.45 = about $0.27 per ounce. The 7 Brew Large gives you 8 more ounces for about $0.80 more.

Best Time to Enjoy

This is an afternoon and evening drink, and the zero-caffeine build is what makes that possible. A 3pm slump order that will not wreck your sleep is rare at a coffee chain, and this one delivers - you can drink a Large at 9pm and still fall asleep on schedule. Peak conditions are hot weather. The strawberry-watermelon front end reads distinctly summer, and the coconut finish makes it feel like a poolside drink. Fans in Texas, Arizona, and Oklahoma order it hardest between May and September for exactly that reason. In winter it still works but it drinks heavier, more like a dessert than a refresher.

I have been ordering this every Saturday since a barista in Springdale suggested it. The Tigers Blood by itself is a little one-note for me but adding the pina colada gives it that creamy coconut back end and it turns into a straight up strawberry colada milkshake. My kids get the Kids size with no whip and there is zero caffeine so nobody is bouncing off walls at bedtime. Large is genuinely a two-person drink.

Tyler Brennan1 month ago

Really good tropical smoothie and the double coconut thing works better than I expected. Only knocking a star because full sweet is a LOT - my first Large tasted like melted strawberry ice cream by the bottom third. Went back and ordered it half sweet with light ice and it was perfect, you can actually taste pineapple instead of just sugar. Ask for half sweet the first time and thank me later.

Danielle Okafor3 months ago

It is well made and the crew was great, it is just not what I pictured. I wanted a fruit smoothie and this is basically a milkshake - the ice cream mix dominates and I could not really pick out watermelon at all. Tried it again with oat milk instead of the ice cream mix and that version was much closer to what I wanted, though thinner. If you want fruit-forward, ask for the alt milk swap. If you want dessert, order it standard.

How to Make the Tiger's Blood Piña Colada Smoothie at Home

5 minutes
Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 cups premium vanilla ice cream (Tillamook or Haagen-Dazs work best - higher butterfat mimics the mix)
  • 1/3 cup whole milk (or oat milk for a dairy-lighter version)
  • 1 1/2 tbsp Torani Tigers Blood syrup (or 1 tbsp Torani Strawberry + 1/2 tbsp Torani Watermelon + 1/2 tsp Torani Coconut)
  • 1 1/2 tbsp Monin Pina Colada mix (or 1 tbsp Monin Pineapple syrup + 1/2 tbsp Coco Lopez cream of coconut)
  • 3/4 cup ice cubes
  • Optional: whipped cream and a maraschino cherry
Instructions
1

Add the milk to the blender first, then the ice cream - liquid on the bottom keeps the blades from stalling.

2

Pour in the Tigers Blood syrup and the pina colada mix.

3

Add the ice last and blend on high for 25-35 seconds, no longer. Over-blending melts the ice cream and thins the drink.

4

Check thickness: it should ribbon slowly off a spoon. Add 2 tbsp milk if too thick, 1/4 cup ice if too thin.

5

Pour into a 24oz cup, top with whipped cream if you want the full drive-thru experience, and serve immediately with a wide straw.

Lighter Version

Use sugar-free syrups and skip whipped cream to save 100-150 calories.

FAQ

Common Questions

How many calories are in a 7 Brew Tigers Blood Pina Colada Smoothie?
It ranges from about 230 calories in the 10oz Kids size to roughly 720 calories in the 32oz Large. The 16oz Small lands near 380 calories and the popular 24oz Medium sits around 540 calories. Most of that comes from two places: the dairy ice cream mix that forms the base, and the added sugar in the Tigers Blood syrup and pina colada puree. You can bring a Medium down to roughly 340-390 calories by swapping the ice cream mix for almond or oat milk, or to about 430 calories by simply ordering it half-sweet and skipping whipped cream.
Does the 7 Brew Tigers Blood Pina Colada Smoothie have caffeine?
No. It is completely caffeine-free at 0mg in all four sizes - Kids, Small, Medium, and Large. There is no coffee, espresso, tea, or energy blend anywhere in the build, just fruit syrup, pina colada puree, ice cream mix, and ice. That makes it one of the safest orders on the 7 Brew menu for kids, pregnant customers, and anyone ordering after 6pm. The only way it gains caffeine is if you add an espresso shot, which brings 60mg per shot.
What does Tigers Blood taste like at 7 Brew?
Tigers Blood is the classic snow cone flavor: strawberry and watermelon layered over coconut. At 7 Brew it reads as candy-sweet strawberry up front, cool watermelon in the middle, and a soft creamy coconut finish. Adding pina colada puree, as this drink does, reinforces that coconut note and introduces pineapple, which adds a bit of acidity and keeps the whole thing from tasting flatly sweet. Together they land somewhere between a strawberry milkshake and a tropical soft serve.
Is the 7 Brew Tigers Blood Pina Colada Smoothie dairy-free or vegan?
Not as it comes. The standard build uses 7 Brews ice cream mix, which is dairy-based, so the drink contains milk and is not vegan or dairy-free by default. You can get close by asking the crew to blend the Tigers Blood and pina colada with almond, oat, or coconut milk instead of the ice cream mix. That version is dairy-free but thinner and icier, and you should still confirm with your location that the syrups and purees they carry are free of dairy derivatives, since supplier products can vary by market.
How much does a Tigers Blood Pina Colada Smoothie cost at 7 Brew?
Pricing is $3.75 for the 10oz Kids, $5.25 for the 16oz Small, $6.25 for the 24oz Medium, and $7.25 for the 32oz Large. On a cost-per-ounce basis the Large is easily the best value at about $0.23 per ounce, compared to $0.33 per ounce for the Small. Prices vary slightly by market and franchise, and adding an alt milk swap or an espresso shot can add roughly $0.60-$1.00 depending on location.
