About This Drink
Blackberry Cobbler Wildberry Smoothie

The 7 Brew Blackberry Cobbler Wildberry Smoothie is a caffeine-free blended drink built from blackberry syrup, wildberry fruit puree, and the proprietary 7 Brew ice cream mix, ranging from 210 calories in a Kids 10oz to 740 calories in a Large 32oz and priced from $3.75 to $7.25. Every size contains 0mg of caffeine, which makes it one of the few menu items you can hand to a kid at 7pm without regret.

Here is the part most people get wrong: 7 Brew smoothies are not juice-bar smoothies. There is no fresh fruit in the blender, no banana, no yogurt. The base is a dairy ice cream mix that behaves like a very thick vanilla cream, and the fruit flavor comes from a thick wildberry puree plus a shot of blackberry syrup layered on top. That is why the allergen list says Milk and why the texture lands closer to a soft-serve milkshake than a fruit slushie. Once you understand that, the drink makes total sense - it is engineered to taste like the filling of a warm blackberry cobbler with the vanilla ice cream already melted into it.

The Blackberry Cobbler build sits in the seasonal-and-secret-menu corner of the 7 Brew world, the kind of order that spreads through the drive-thru line and TikTok comment sections rather than the printed board. Because 7 Brew is drive-thru-only and every drink is made to order, the crew can swap the syrup, cut the sweetness, or change the base without blinking. That flexibility matters here more than on almost any other smoothie, because the standard build is genuinely sweet - a Medium carries 109g of sugar. Ordered smart, though, it is one of the most convincing dessert-in-a-cup drinks on the entire menu.

TASTE

What Does the 7 Brew Blackberry Cobbler Wildberry Smoothie Taste Like?

The first thing that hits is aroma, not flavor. Lean over the straw and you get jammy dark berry with a faint bakery-vanilla warmth behind it, the same smell as a cobbler pulled out of the oven ten minutes ago.

The first sip leads with blackberry - deep, slightly wine-like, more concentrated preserve than fresh-picked berry. There is a whisper of that seedy tartness real blackberries have, but it is rounded off fast by the ice cream mix. About mid-sip the wildberry puree opens up underneath and widens the flavor: raspberry brightness, a little strawberry sweetness, a touch of blue-berry darkness. That layering is what separates this from a plain blackberry smoothie. It reads as several berries at once, which is exactly what real cobbler filling does.

The finish is where the dairy takes over. The ice cream mix leaves a cool vanilla-cream coating on the tongue with almost no acidity left behind, so the aftertaste is sweet rather than sharp. Some sips carry a faint buttery note that genuinely mimics pastry crust.

Texture-wise, expect thick. Not spoon-thick, but you will work the straw for the first third of the cup. It is smooth and uniform, no pulp, no seeds, no ice shards if it is blended properly. As it melts past the twenty minute mark it thins into something closer to a berry milkshake, and honestly it is still good there.

INGREDIENTS

What's Actually in the 7 Brew Blackberry Cobbler Wildberry Smoothie?

Wildberry Puree A thick, sweetened mixed-berry concentrate carrying raspberry, strawberry and dark berry notes - it is the flavor backbone, not a garnish
Blackberry Syrup Roughly 1 to 3 pumps by size, added on top of the puree to push the profile darker and jammier toward true cobbler filling
Ice Cream Mix The 7 Brew dairy smoothie base - a pourable vanilla cream concentrate that supplies the milkshake body, the fat, and the Milk allergen
Ice Blended in to set thickness and chill; asking for light ice yields a denser, more intense cup that melts slower
Whipped Cream Optional finish, adds roughly 50 to 80 calories and 1g to 2g of sugar depending on the pour

Ingredients may vary by location. Always confirm with your barista.

First Time?

How to Order the Blackberry Cobbler Wildberry Smoothie for the First Time

Order a Small the first time. At $5.25 for 16oz and 350 calories it is the right amount of drink to figure out whether you like the creamy 7 Brew smoothie style before committing $7.25 and 740 calories to a Large.

Ask for it half-sweet on your first visit. The standard build is calibrated sweet, and half-sweet lets you actually taste the blackberry and wildberry separation instead of a wall of sugar. If it comes out too tart for you, order it standard next time - it is much easier to add sweetness on a second visit than to enjoy an over-sweet cup you cannot finish.

Set your expectations correctly before the window opens: this is a berry milkshake, not a fruit smoothie. The Milk allergen on the label is not a technicality, it is the entire structural base of the drink. People who go in expecting a juice-bar smoothie are the ones who leave three-star reviews.

Drink it within the first twenty minutes for the intended texture. It is engineered thick and it thins as it melts. If you have a long commute, ask for light ice, which keeps the flavor concentrated as it loosens.

Pro tip: Don't be afraid to ask your brewista for recommendations — they love helping first-timers!

I have been working my way through the entire 7 Brew smoothie lineup and this one finally beat out Tigers Blood for me. It genuinely tastes like the inside of a blackberry cobbler with vanilla ice cream melted on top. The blackberry hits first and then the wildberry fills in behind it. I get a Medium with half-sweet syrup and one pump of vanilla and it is perfect. Zero caffeine so I can grab one at 8pm with my kid and neither of us is up at midnight.

Really good, but you have to know what you are ordering. I expected something like a fruit smoothie from a juice place and this is basically a berry milkshake because of the ice cream mix. Once I adjusted my expectations I loved it. Docking a star only because the Large at 148g of sugar is genuinely a lot - I switched to a Small and it is still plenty. Blend quality has been consistent at my location, never gotten a chunky one.

Danielle Ferraro3 months ago

The flavor is accurate, I will give it that, it does taste like cobbler. For me it is just too sweet and too thick to drink all the way through. I got maybe two thirds of a Medium down before it felt heavy. I tried it again with almond milk instead of the ice cream base and honestly liked that version better - lighter, more berry-forward, less dessert. If you want a refreshing summer drink, order it that way. If you want dessert, get the standard build.

How to Make the Blackberry Cobbler Wildberry Smoothie at Home

5 minutes
Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup vanilla ice cream (Breyers Natural Vanilla or Blue Bell Homemade Vanilla work best - this stands in for the 7 Brew ice cream mix)
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 3 tbsp Torani Blackberry Syrup (or 2 tbsp if you prefer it less sweet)
  • 3 tbsp mixed berry puree - use Monin Wildberry Fruit Puree, or blend 1/3 cup frozen mixed berries with 1 tbsp simple syrup and strain the seeds
  • 1 tsp Torani Vanilla Syrup (this is the cobbler-crust note - do not skip it)
  • 1 1/4 cups ice
  • Optional: pinch of cinnamon and 1 crushed shortbread cookie on top
Instructions
1

Add the milk, blackberry syrup, wildberry puree, and vanilla syrup to the blender first so the liquids sit under the blade.

2

Add the vanilla ice cream, then the ice on top.

3

Blend on high for 30 to 40 seconds until completely smooth with no ice shards. Stop the moment it stops chunking - overblending thins it out.

4

Check the thickness. Add 2 tbsp ice for a thicker pour or 2 tbsp milk to loosen it.

5

Pour into a 16oz cup. Top with whipped cream and crushed shortbread if you want the full cobbler effect.

Lighter Version

Use sugar-free syrups and skip whipped cream to save 100-150 calories.

FAQ

Common Questions

How many calories are in a 7 Brew Blackberry Cobbler Wildberry Smoothie?
It ranges from 210 calories for a Kids 10oz, to 350 calories for a Small 16oz, 540 calories for a Medium 24oz, and 740 calories for a Large 32oz. The calories come from three places: the sweetened wildberry puree, the blackberry syrup, and the dairy ice cream mix that forms the base. To reduce them, ask for half-sweet syrup (saves roughly 60 to 90 calories on a Medium), request sugar-free blackberry syrup, or swap the ice cream mix for almond milk, which cuts about 150 to 200 calories on a Medium.
Does the 7 Brew Blackberry Cobbler Wildberry Smoothie have caffeine?
No. It contains 0mg of caffeine in every size, including Kids, Small, Medium, and Large. There is no coffee, espresso, tea, or energy blend in the build - just wildberry puree, blackberry syrup, ice cream mix, and ice. That makes it one of the safest late-evening orders on the 7 Brew menu and a legitimate option for children, though the 43g of sugar in even the Kids size is worth considering.
Is the 7 Brew Blackberry Cobbler Wildberry Smoothie dairy-free or vegan?
No, the standard build is not dairy-free or vegan. It lists Milk as an allergen because the base is the 7 Brew ice cream mix, which is dairy-based. You can get close to dairy-free by asking the crew to substitute almond, oat, or coconut milk for the ice cream mix. The wildberry puree and blackberry syrup themselves are typically dairy-free. Be aware the texture changes significantly - you get an icy, slushy consistency instead of the thick milkshake body, and cross-contact in shared blenders is always possible, so severe allergy sufferers should ask directly at the window.
How much sugar is in the Blackberry Cobbler Wildberry Smoothie?
A Kids size has 43g of sugar, a Small has 69g, a Medium has 109g, and a Large has 148g. For context, a Medium exceeds the American Heart Association daily added sugar recommendation for an adult woman (25g) by more than four times. The most effective reductions are ordering half-sweet on the blackberry syrup and sizing down - moving from a Medium to a Small drops you from 109g to 69g of sugar while only saving $1.00.
What does the 7 Brew Blackberry Cobbler Wildberry Smoothie actually taste like?
It tastes like blackberry cobbler filling blended with vanilla ice cream. The opening is dark, jammy blackberry with a slight wine-like depth, the middle broadens into mixed wildberry with raspberry brightness, and the finish is creamy vanilla with a faint buttery pastry note. It is noticeably sweeter and creamier than a juice-bar smoothie because 7 Brew builds smoothies on a dairy ice cream mix rather than fresh fruit and yogurt. If you like milkshakes more than you like fruit smoothies, you will like this.
