About This Drink
Cinnamon Roll

The 7 Brew Cinnamon Roll is a breve-style espresso drink built from brown sugar cinnamon syrup and white chocolate sauce poured over freshly pulled espresso and half-and-half, and it runs from 180 calories with 60mg of caffeine in a Kids 10oz to 600 calories with 240mg of caffeine in a Large 32oz. The most-ordered size, the Medium 24oz, lands at 480 calories, 30g carbs, 27g sugar, 30g fat, 10g protein and 120mg of caffeine. Prices are $3.25 Kids, $4.75 Small, $5.75 Medium and $6.75 Large.

It belongs to the "7 Originals" - the lineup of signature drinks that made 7 Brew a phenomenon after launching from a single drive-thru stand in Rogers, Arkansas. Like its cousins the Blondie and Sweet & Salty, the Cinnamon Roll is built on a half-and-half base rather than milk, which is what makes it a breve. That half-and-half is the single biggest reason this drink tastes so much richer than a standard latte from a traditional cafe, and it is also why the fat number (30g in a Medium) is high relative to the sugar number. This is a full-fat, dessert-leaning coffee, not a light one.

What separates the Cinnamon Roll from every other cinnamon coffee on the market is the pairing choice. Most chains reach for cinnamon dolce, which is essentially cinnamon plus generic sweetener. 7 Brew instead layers brown sugar cinnamon against white chocolate, and white chocolate brings cocoa butter and a dairy-vanilla sweetness that mimics the cream cheese frosting on an actual cinnamon roll. That is the trick. The cinnamon reads as the dough and the spice swirl, the white chocolate reads as the icing, and the half-and-half glues them together into something that genuinely tastes baked. It is available hot, iced, or as a Chiller (blended), and each format changes the drink meaningfully - the hot version pushes the cinnamon aroma forward while the Chiller turns it into a frozen frosting milkshake with a coffee backbone.

Information for Cinnamon Roll

Contains Milk
Every size lists Milk as an allergen from both the half-and-half base and the white chocolate sauce. Unavoidable in the standard build.
Vegetarian
Yes - no meat or gelatin ingredients in the espresso, syrups, sauce, or dairy base.
Not Vegan
Cannot be made fully vegan. Alt milk removes the half-and-half but white chocolate sauce still contains dairy. Closest vegan option: cinnamon syrup plus oat milk plus espresso, no white chocolate.
Nut-Free (verify locally)
No nut ingredients in the standard build, but almond and other nut milks are handled in the same stand. Tell the crew if you have a severe nut allergy.
Gluten-Free Ingredients
Despite the name, there is no actual pastry, dough, or wheat in the drink. Flavor comes entirely from syrup and sauce.
Not Keto As Built
Small has 16g carbs, Medium 30g, Large 42g. A keto-friendly approximation is a breve with sugar-free cinnamon only and no white chocolate, roughly 3-5g carbs.
High Fat
18g fat in a Small, 30g in a Medium, 36g in a Large - a direct result of the half-and-half breve base rather than added oils.
Caffeine Present
60mg to 240mg depending on size. There is no decaf-by-default version, but decaf espresso can be requested at most stands.

TASTE

What Does the 7 Brew Cinnamon Roll Taste Like?

The first thing that hits you is aroma, especially on the hot version - warm cassia-style cinnamon with a brown sugar edge, the exact smell of a pan of rolls coming out of the oven. The first sip is soft and rounded rather than sharp, because the half-and-half coats your palate before the spice arrives. Mid-sip, the brown sugar cinnamon opens up: not the hot, spicy cinnamon of a red candy, but the mellow, molasses-tinged bakery cinnamon you get in a snickerdoodle.

Then the white chocolate arrives on the back half and does the heavy lifting. It is buttery, vanilla-forward and faintly milky, and it genuinely reads as icing rather than as chocolate. Underneath all of it, the espresso shows up as a light roasted bitterness right at the finish - just enough to keep the drink from becoming cloying, though at standard sweetness it is closer to dessert than to coffee.

Texture is the other headline. Half-and-half gives the iced version a silky, almost velvety weight that clings to the straw, noticeably thicker than a milk latte. The hot version is plush and slightly foamy at the top. The Chiller blends into a thick, pale-tan frozen shake with tiny ice crystals that melt fast, and cinnamon flavor intensifies as it warms in the cup. The aftertaste is warm spice plus a faint buttery film from the cocoa butter, and it lingers pleasantly for a minute or two.

INGREDIENTS

What's Actually in the 7 Brew Cinnamon Roll?

Espresso Freshly pulled shots - 1 shot Kids, 2 shots Small and Medium, 4 shots Large. Source of all caffeine in the drink.
Brown Sugar Cinnamon Syrup A sweetened cinnamon syrup with molasses depth. Typically 2 pumps Small, 3 Medium, 4-5 Large. Sugar-free cinnamon is available on request at most stands.
White Chocolate Sauce Thick cocoa-butter based sauce, not a thin syrup. Provides the frosting note plus a meaningful share of the fat and sugar. This is the ingredient most responsible for the 27g sugar in a Medium.
Half-and-Half The breve base - roughly half whole milk, half cream, about 12 percent milkfat. Replaces regular milk and is why a Medium carries 30g fat.
Ice Used in the Iced build and blended into the Chiller. Chiller uses more ice, which slightly dilutes flavor as it melts.
Whipped Cream (optional) Not standard on every build - ask for it or ask them to leave it off. Adds roughly 50-80 calories depending on the pour.

Ingredients may vary by location. Always confirm with your barista.

First Time?

How to Order the Cinnamon Roll for the First Time

If this is your first Cinnamon Roll, order a Small Iced (16oz, $4.75, 280 calories, 120mg caffeine) with an extra espresso shot. Here is the reasoning: the Small and Medium carry identical caffeine at 120mg, so sizing up to a Medium gets you more sugar and more calories without more coffee. Starting Small lets you gauge the sweetness before committing to 27g of sugar in a Medium or 38g in a Large.

If you are someone who normally drinks black coffee or a one-pump latte, say "half-sweet" at the speaker box. This is the most common regular-customer modification and it drops a Medium to roughly 14g of sugar while letting the cinnamon spice read more clearly against the espresso.

Choose your format by weather and mood. Hot is the best expression of the drink - the aroma of brown sugar cinnamon comes forward and it feels like an actual pastry. Iced is the most drinkable and shows off the silky half-and-half texture. The Chiller is the dessert choice and should be treated as a milkshake with coffee in it, not as a coffee.

Two things that surprise first-timers: the half-and-half base makes this heavier than any latte you have had, so it will fill you up more than you expect, and the white chocolate is more prominent than the cinnamon. If you want spice to dominate, ask for an extra pump of cinnamon and only one pump of white chocolate.

Pro tip: Don't be afraid to ask your brewista for recommendations — they love helping first-timers!

How to get a drink similar to the Cinnamon Roll at other coffee chains

Similar flavored espresso drink
How to Order

Order a Venti Iced Cinnamon Dolce Latte, substitute breve (half-and-half) for the 2 percent milk, and add 2 pumps of white chocolate mocha sauce. Ask for cinnamon dolce topping on top. Without the breve substitution and the white chocolate it will taste noticeably thinner and more one-dimensional than the 7 Brew version.

Key Difference

7 Brew uses a breve (half-and-half) base while Starbucks uses 2% milk by default. 7 Brew is typically creamier and sweeter.

How to Order

Dutch Bros does not carry a named Cinnamon Roll drink. Ask for a Large Iced Breve with 3 pumps cinnamon syrup and 2 pumps white chocolate sauce, and request cinnamon sprinkles. Their Snickerdoodle Freeze is a nearby alternative if you want the blended version rather than iced.

Key Difference

Dutch Bros tends to run slightly sweeter. Both are drive-thru only chains with a similar vibe.

7 Brew Large 32oz at $6.75 works out to about $0.21 per ounce. A Venti Iced Cinnamon Dolce Latte at 24oz runs roughly $6.25 before add-ons, or about $0.26 per ounce, and the breve plus white chocolate modifications typically add $1.00 to $1.50, pushing it near $7.50 for 8 fewer ounces.

Best Time to Enjoy

The Cinnamon Roll is a cold-weather morning drink first and foremost. From late September through February, the hot version paired with a breakfast sandwich is exactly what it was designed for, and the 120mg of caffeine in a Small or Medium is a functional start to the day without overdoing it. Mid-morning between 9am and 11am is the sweet spot for the iced or Chiller version. With 30g of fat and 10g of protein in a Medium, this drink has real staying power and can genuinely stand in for a pastry, which is worth remembering when you look at that 480 calorie number - it is a snack plus a coffee, not just a coffee.

I have tried almost every Original and the Cinnamon Roll is the one I keep coming back to. Medium iced, extra shot. The white chocolate makes it taste exactly like the frosting on a Cinnabon and the cinnamon is warm instead of spicy. My husband says it smells like his grandma baking. It is absolutely dessert so I do not order it every day, but on a cold morning it is unbeatable.

Marcus Delgado1 month ago

Really good drink and I like that they use half-and-half instead of milk, it drinks so much smoother than the latte I used to get. Only knocking a star because the standard sweetness was too much for me. Second time I ordered it half-sweet with an extra shot and it was near perfect - you can actually taste the coffee under the cinnamon. Ask for half-sweet the first time and thank me later.

Rebecca Lindstrom3 months ago

It is well made, I just expected more cinnamon punch. The white chocolate kind of takes over for me and by the end it reads as a vanilla-ish sweet cream drink with a hint of spice. Also 480 calories for a medium caught me off guard once I looked it up. If you want a strong spice-forward coffee this might not be it. The Blondie is more my speed.

How to Make the Cinnamon Roll at Home

5 minutes
Ingredients
  • 2 shots espresso (2 fl oz), or 1/3 cup strong-brewed dark roast, chilled
  • 2 tbsp (1 fl oz) Torani Brown Sugar Cinnamon Syrup - substitute 1 tbsp Torani Brown Sugar plus 1 tbsp Monin Cinnamon if you cannot find the combined flavor
  • 1 tbsp Ghirardelli White Chocolate Sauce or Monin White Chocolate Sauce (the thick sauce, not a clear syrup)
  • 6 fl oz half-and-half
  • 1.5 cups ice
  • Optional: pinch of ground Saigon cinnamon on top
Instructions
1

Pull 2 shots of espresso and stir the white chocolate sauce into the hot espresso immediately - the heat is required to fully dissolve cocoa-butter based sauce. Skipping this step leaves sauce sludge at the bottom.

2

Add the brown sugar cinnamon syrup to the espresso mixture and stir 15 seconds.

3

Fill a 16oz cup with 1.5 cups ice, pour the espresso mixture over the ice.

4

Top with 6 fl oz half-and-half and stir from the bottom up so the sauce distributes.

5

Dust with a pinch of Saigon cinnamon. For a hot version, steam the half-and-half to 150F and pour over the espresso mixture instead. For a Chiller, blend everything with 1 cup ice for 25 seconds.

Lighter Version

Use sugar-free syrups and skip whipped cream to save 100-150 calories.

FAQ

Common Questions

How many calories are in a 7 Brew Cinnamon Roll?
A 7 Brew Cinnamon Roll ranges from 180 calories in a Kids 10oz to 600 calories in a Large 32oz. A Small 16oz has 280 calories, and the popular Medium 24oz has 480 calories with 30g carbs, 27g sugar, 30g fat and 10g protein. The calories come primarily from the half-and-half breve base and the white chocolate sauce, not from the espresso. To cut them down, order it half-sweet (saves about 80-100 calories on a Medium) or swap the half-and-half for almond milk, which brings a Medium into the low 300s and drops fat from 30g to roughly 8-10g.
How much caffeine is in a 7 Brew Cinnamon Roll?
Caffeine is determined by espresso shots: Kids 10oz has 60mg (1 shot), Small 16oz has 120mg (2 shots), Medium 24oz has 120mg (2 shots), and Large 32oz has 240mg (4 shots). Notice that Small and Medium have identical caffeine at 120mg, so if you want more coffee strength without more sugar, ordering a Small with an extra shot (180mg) is more efficient than sizing up. The FDA general guidance for healthy adults is up to 400mg per day, so a Large Cinnamon Roll uses about 60 percent of that.
What does the 7 Brew Cinnamon Roll taste like?
It tastes like a warm bakery cinnamon roll with cream cheese icing, in liquid form. The brown sugar cinnamon syrup provides mellow, molasses-tinged spice rather than sharp hot cinnamon, and the white chocolate sauce contributes a buttery vanilla-dairy sweetness that mimics frosting. Because it uses half-and-half instead of milk, the texture is noticeably silkier and heavier than a standard cafe latte, and the espresso shows up only as a light roasted bitterness on the finish. At standard sweetness it drinks more like dessert than coffee.
Is the 7 Brew Cinnamon Roll sweet? Should I order it half-sweet?
Yes, it is one of the sweeter 7 Originals. A Medium contains 27g of sugar and a Large contains 38g. If you normally drink lattes with one pump of syrup or less, order it half-sweet, which cuts a Medium to roughly 14g of sugar. Adding an extra espresso shot (plus 60mg caffeine, about 5 calories) is the other common fix and is the most-recommended tweak among regulars. If you want it sweeter, a pump of caramel adds about 20-25 calories and pushes the flavor toward a sticky bun.
Can you get the 7 Brew Cinnamon Roll dairy-free or keto?
Not fully dairy-free. You can substitute oat, almond, or coconut milk for the half-and-half, but the white chocolate sauce contains milk solids, so the drink will always carry a Milk allergen. For a closer dairy-free version, ask for brown sugar cinnamon syrup with oat milk and skip the white chocolate entirely. For keto, the drink is not compliant as built (16g carbs in a Small, 30g in a Medium), but an approximation is available: order a breve with sugar-free cinnamon syrup only, no white chocolate, which keeps the half-and-half richness at roughly 3-5g carbs.
