About This Drink
Irish Cream Cappuccino

The 7 Brew Irish Cream Cappuccino is an espresso drink built from three simple parts: freshly pulled espresso, Irish Cream flavoring syrup, and steamed milk that is frothed into a thick, airy foam cap. It ranges from 170 calories in the 10oz Kids size to 230 calories in the 32oz Large, with 60mg of caffeine in a Kids, 120mg in a Small or Medium, and 240mg in a Large. Pricing runs $3.00 Kids, $4.50 Small, $5.50 Medium, and $6.50 Large. And to answer the question everyone asks at the drive-thru window: there is no alcohol in it. Irish Cream here is a flavoring syrup that mimics the whiskey-cream-vanilla profile of the liqueur, not the liqueur itself.

What makes this drink stand out on the 7 Brew menu is the format. 7 Brew is a drive-thru-only chain out of Rogers, Arkansas, and most of its famous drinks - the 7 Originals, the Blondie, the Brunette, the Sweet and Salty - are built on half-and-half or chocolate milk, which is why they land in the 400 to 600 calorie range. The cappuccino category is different. Because a cappuccino is mostly foam and air rather than heavy dairy, a Medium Irish Cream Cappuccino comes in at 210 calories with 7g of protein, which is roughly half the calories of a Medium Original built on breve.

You can order it three ways: Hot, where the foam is at its most classic and pillowy; Iced, where the frothed milk settles into a lighter, meringue-like layer on top of the ice; and Chiller, 7 Brew shorthand for a blended version that drinks more like a frozen coffee milkshake and will run higher in calories than the listed hot and iced numbers. If you want a flavored coffee that still tastes like coffee, this is one of the smartest orders on the board.

Information for Irish Cream Cappuccino

Contains Milk
All sizes contain dairy from the steamed and frothed whole milk. This is the only listed allergen in the standard build.
Nut-Free
No nut ingredients in the standard build. If you order almond milk, that changes - specify oat or coconut instead for a nut-free dairy alternative.
No Gluten Ingredients
Espresso, milk, and flavoring syrup contain no gluten ingredients, though 7 Brew is not a certified gluten-free facility.
Vegetarian
Suitable for vegetarians as ordered.
Vegan Option Available
Ask for oat milk or coconut milk in place of whole milk. Oat froths closest to dairy. Confirm at your location that the Irish Cream syrup is dairy-free, as most flavoring syrups are but formulations can vary.
Not Keto-Friendly
Even the Kids size carries 29g carbs and 28g sugar. For a keto-style version, order espresso over ice with heavy cream and sugar-free vanilla, since a sugar-free Irish Cream syrup is not commonly stocked.
Lower-Calorie Coffee Pick
At 170-230 calories across all sizes, this is one of the lightest flavored espresso drinks at 7 Brew - roughly half the calories of a comparable Original built on breve.
Protein Contributor
Delivers 4g protein in a Kids up to 8g in a Large from the milk, which is unusual for a sweet coffee drink.

TASTE

What Does the 7 Brew Irish Cream Cappuccino Taste Like?

The aroma hits before the first sip - sweet vanilla and something warm and boozy-smelling, like the top of a tiramisu, sitting over the roasted, slightly cocoa scent of the espresso.

The first sip is almost entirely foam. It is light, sweet, and barely wet, with vanilla and a soft nutty-caramel note coming through first. Then the liquid underneath catches up, and that is where the Irish Cream syrup shows its real character: a creamy, custard-like sweetness with a faint whiskey-barrel warmth on the back end. It is close to the flavor of Baileys stirred into coffee, minus the alcohol burn.

Mid-drink, the espresso asserts itself. 7 Brew pulls a fairly bold, low-acid shot, and because there is less milk here than in a latte, you get more genuine coffee bitterness cutting through the sweetness. That contrast is the whole appeal - sweet cream up front, dark roast in the middle, a clean slightly toasted finish that does not coat your mouth.

Texture is the other half of the experience. Hot, it is velvety and cloud-like, the foam collapsing slowly so the last few sips get progressively stronger and more coffee-forward. Iced, the froth thins into a light cap and the drink turns crisp and refreshing rather than cozy. The Chiller is a different animal entirely - thick, cold, and dessert-like, with the Irish Cream reading much sweeter once it is blended.

INGREDIENTS

What's Actually in the 7 Brew Irish Cream Cappuccino?

Espresso 1 shot Kids, 2 shots Small and Medium, 4 shots Large. Medium-dark roast, low acidity, pulled fresh per order.
Irish Cream Syrup Non-alcoholic flavoring syrup built on vanilla, sweet cream, and a whiskey-like caramel note. Roughly 2 pumps Small, 3 Medium, 4 Large. Contains no dairy itself but is sugar-sweetened.
Steamed and Frothed Milk Whole milk aerated into microfoam. In a cappuendo build the foam-to-liquid ratio is high, which is why calories stay low and protein stays at 5-8g depending on size.
Ice (Iced and Chiller only) Iced versions are poured over ice with the froth layered on top. Chillers are blended with ice for a frozen texture.
Optional Whipped Cream Not standard on cappuccinos. If you add it, expect roughly 50-70 extra calories and 2-3g extra sugar.

Ingredients may vary by location. Always confirm with your barista.

First Time?

How to Order the Irish Cream Cappuccino for the First Time

If this is your first Irish Cream Cappuccino, order a Medium Hot at standard sweetness. That is the build that shows you exactly what the drink is meant to be: 210 calories, 120mg caffeine, a proper foam cap, and enough syrup that the Irish Cream reads clearly against the espresso.

Do not start with the Large unless you have a real caffeine tolerance. The Large jumps to 4 shots and 240mg, and because a cappuccino is lighter-bodied than a breve drink, that caffeine hits faster than it would in a Brunette or a Sweet and Salty.

Take the first two sips slowly and only through the foam - that is where the vanilla and cream notes live. Then stir once and taste again. If it lands too sweet at 32g of sugar, your next order is a Medium half-sweet. If it lands too coffee-forward, order it as a latte instead or move to the Chiller, which is the sweetest of the three preparations. If you loved it but wanted more punch, the move is a Small with an extra shot: 180mg of caffeine for $4.50 and only about 185 calories.

Pro tip: Don't be afraid to ask your brewista for recommendations — they love helping first-timers!

Best Time to Enjoy

Morning is the natural slot. At 120mg of caffeine for a Small or Medium, this is a standard morning-coffee dose, and the 5-7g of protein from the steamed milk makes it sit better on a light stomach than a sugary blended drink would. It also works surprisingly well as an early-afternoon pick-me-up, specifically because it is only 180-210 calories. If you want caffeine at 2pm without eating a 500-calorie dessert drink, this is the smartest order on the 7 Brew menu.

I have been ordering the Blondie for two years and switched to the Irish Cream Cappuccino when I started tracking macros. A medium is 210 calories and it genuinely tastes like Baileys coffee. The foam on the hot one is unreal - the girls at my location build it so thick you can see it holding a spoon. I get it half-sweet with an extra shot and it is my perfect morning drink now.

Marcus Whitfield1 month ago

Really good and way lighter than the Originals. My only note is that the iced version loses the foam faster than I would like - by the halfway point it is basically an iced latte. Hot is where this drink shines. Also worth knowing the large has four shots, so 240mg of caffeine hit me harder than expected on an empty stomach.

Rebecca Lindgren2 months ago

Tasty but not what I personally want from 7 Brew. If you like a rich creamy drink this is going to feel thin to you - it is mostly foam and espresso, so you notice the coffee bitterness a lot more than in a mocha. I ordered mine standard sweetness and it was 32g of sugar and still somehow tasted more coffee than dessert. I will stick with the Brunette, but I understand why lighter drinkers love this one.

Copycat Recipe

How to Make the Irish Cream Cappuccino at Home

6 minutes
Ingredients
  • 2 shots espresso (2oz total), or 2oz strong Moka pot or Aeropress coffee
  • 1.5 tablespoons (0.75oz) Torani Irish Cream syrup, or Monin Irish Cream syrup for a slightly less sweet, more whiskey-forward profile
  • 6oz whole milk, cold
  • Optional: pinch of grated dark chocolate or cocoa powder for the top
  • Optional lower-sugar swap: 1 tablespoon Torani Sugar Free Vanilla plus 0.5 tablespoon Torani Irish Cream to cut sugar by roughly half
Instructions
1

Pull 2 shots of espresso directly into a warmed 12oz mug. If using a Moka pot, brew 2oz and pour it in hot.

2

Add the 1.5 tablespoons of Torani Irish Cream syrup to the hot espresso and stir for 10 seconds so it fully dissolves before the milk goes in. Adding syrup first is what keeps it from sinking into a sweet layer at the bottom.

3

Steam or froth the 6oz of whole milk to about 150F. For a proper cappuccino texture, aerate for the first 4-5 seconds to introduce air, then submerge the wand to build glossy microfoam. A handheld frother works: heat the milk to just below a simmer, then froth for 30-40 seconds.

4

Tap the pitcher on the counter twice to pop large bubbles and swirl until the foam looks like wet paint.

5

Pour the liquid milk in first to fill about half the remaining cup, then spoon the thick foam on top so you finish with a 1-inch foam cap.

6

Dust with grated dark chocolate. For an iced version, shake the espresso and syrup with ice, strain over fresh ice, and spoon cold-frothed milk on top.

Lighter Version

Use sugar-free syrups and skip whipped cream to save 100-150 calories.

FAQ

Common Questions

Does the 7 Brew Irish Cream Cappuccino have alcohol in it?
No. The 7 Brew Irish Cream Cappuccino contains zero alcohol. Irish Cream is a flavoring syrup that recreates the vanilla, sweet cream, and whiskey-caramel taste of Irish cream liqueur without any alcohol content. It is safe for anyone avoiding alcohol, including pregnant customers, though the caffeine content (120mg in a Small or Medium, 240mg in a Large) is the thing to actually watch in that case.
How many calories are in a 7 Brew Irish Cream Cappuccino?
A 7 Brew Irish Cream Cappuccino has 170 calories in the 10oz Kids size, 180 calories in the 16oz Small, 210 calories in the 24oz Medium, and 230 calories in the 32oz Large. Sugar runs 28g, 29g, 32g, and 33g respectively, with nearly all of it coming from the Irish Cream syrup rather than the milk. To lower it, order half-sweet (saves roughly 35 calories and 10g sugar on a Medium) or swap to almond milk (brings a Medium down to roughly 130-145 calories). The blended Chiller version runs higher than these published numbers.
How much caffeine is in a 7 Brew Irish Cream Cappuccino?
Caffeine follows 7 Brew standard espresso counts: 60mg in a Kids (1 shot), 120mg in a Small (2 shots), 120mg in a Medium (2 shots), and 240mg in a Large (4 shots). Note that the Small and Medium have identical caffeine - the Medium just has more milk and syrup - so if you want strength rather than volume, a Small with an added shot (180mg) is the better value. For reference, a 240mg Large is roughly the caffeine of two and a half standard cups of drip coffee and well under 7 Brew cold brew levels, which reach 335mg.
What is the difference between a cappuccino and a latte at 7 Brew?
Both use the same espresso and the same Irish Cream syrup. The difference is the milk. A cappuccino is built with a high proportion of frothed foam to liquid milk, so it is lighter, airier, and more coffee-forward. A latte uses mostly steamed liquid milk with only a thin foam layer, making it creamier and mellower. That is why the Irish Cream Cappuccino sits at 210 calories for a Medium while creamier 7 Brew builds on half-and-half or chocolate milk commonly land between 400 and 600. If you want the foam experience maximized, ask for it extra dry.
Is the 7 Brew Irish Cream Cappuccino better hot or iced?
Hot is the better version for most people, and regulars on Reddit generally agree. Heat keeps the microfoam stable, so you get the pillowy first sips and a drink that gradually gets stronger as the foam collapses into the espresso. Iced still tastes great but the froth thins out within about ten minutes and the drink starts behaving like an iced latte. The Chiller (blended) option is the sweetest and most dessert-like of the three and is the one to pick if you want a frozen coffee treat rather than a true cappuccino.
