About This Drink
Watermelon Lemonade

The 7 Brew Watermelon Lemonade is a caffeine-free iced lemonade built from the fresh-tasting 7 Brew lemonade base and watermelon flavor syrup, served over ice rather than blended. A Medium (24oz) lands at 280 calories with 71g carbs, 69g sugar, 0g fat, 0g protein and 0mg caffeine, while a Large (32oz) comes in at 390 calories and 96g sugar. Pricing runs $2.45 for the Kids 10oz, $3.95 for the Small 16oz, $4.75 for the Medium 24oz, and $5.50 for the Large 32oz - which makes the Large the best value at roughly $0.17 per ounce.

Lemonades occupy a quietly important corner of the 7 Brew menu. This Rogers, Arkansas born drive-thru chain made its name on espresso Originals like the Brunette and the Blondie, but the lemonade lineup is what keeps the non-coffee crowd, the after-school crowd, and the 3pm-and-cannot-have-caffeine crowd coming back. Every lemonade at 7 Brew is made the same simple way: the tart lemonade base goes in first, flavor syrup is pumped in on top, ice fills the cup, and the whole thing gets shaken or stirred to combine. There is no dairy, no puree, and no ice cream mix involved, which is why this drink lists zero allergens and reads clean on the nutrition panel apart from sugar.

What separates the Watermelon Lemonade from the rest of the fruit lemonades is how well watermelon and lemon actually get along. Watermelon flavoring on its own can taste flat and candy-like, but the citric bite of the lemonade base sharpens it into something that reads as genuinely juicy. It is one of the few 7 Brew drinks that tastes like summer without tasting like dessert, and because it is 100 percent caffeine-free in every size, it is one of the safest orders on the board for kids and for late-evening runs.

TASTE

What Does the 7 Brew Watermelon Lemonade Taste Like?

The first thing you get is aroma, not flavor. Crack the lid and the cup smells like the pink inside of a fresh-cut watermelon rind with a squeeze of lemon over it - bright, slightly green, unmistakably candy-adjacent but not cloying.

The first sip leads with tartness. The lemonade base hits the sides of your tongue first with real citric sharpness, the kind that makes you swallow twice. Watermelon arrives about a half second later and rounds everything off, bringing that soft, mildly melon-y sweetness that coats the tart edges without erasing them. Mid-sip is where the drink is at its best: the two flavors sit in balance, and the texture is thin and clean, like a proper stand lemonade rather than a syrupy fountain drink. There is no creaminess, no pulp, and no fizz - just cold liquid moving fast.

The finish is where sweetness catches up. On a Large with full syrup you will notice a lingering sugary film on the back of the tongue after a few minutes, and the watermelon starts to read more like a Jolly Rancher than a melon. That is the single most common critique fans raise on Reddit threads, and it is exactly why the half-sweet order exists. As the ice melts over 20 to 30 minutes, the drink actually improves for a lot of people - dilution pulls the sugar back and lets the lemon lead again.

INGREDIENTS

What's Actually in the 7 Brew Watermelon Lemonade?

Fresh Lemonade Base The tart sweetened lemon base 7 Brew uses across the entire lemonade line - it supplies the citric acidity and the bulk of the sugar in the cup
Watermelon Flavor Syrup Roughly 2 to 3 pumps in a Small, 3 to 4 in a Medium, and 5 to 6 in a Large; sugar-free watermelon is available at most locations on request
Ice Standard fill, shaken or stirred with the base rather than blended, so the drink stays a pourable lemonade instead of a slush
Water Used to bring the concentrated lemonade base to drinking strength - ask for extra water if you want a lighter, less sweet cup

Ingredients may vary by location. Always confirm with your barista.

First Time?

How to Order the Watermelon Lemonade for the First Time

Start with a Medium (24oz, $4.75, 280 calories) at half-sweet. That combination is the sweet spot for a first try: enough volume to actually judge the drink, and enough restraint that you taste watermelon and lemon instead of straight syrup.

Order it exactly like this at the window: Medium Watermelon Lemonade, half-sweet, extra ice. If you know you like very sweet drinks, order it standard instead and skip the half-sweet call.

Two things to expect. First, this is not blended - it arrives as a cold, thin lemonade over ice, not a slush or a smoothie, so do not expect a spoon-thick texture. Second, it is completely caffeine-free at 0mg in every size, which makes it the right pick if you are ordering after dinner, if you are pregnant, or if you are grabbing something for a kid while you get a coffee for yourself.

If you finish it and want more punch next time, add strawberry. If you finish it and it felt too sweet, go quarter-sweet or ask for sugar-free watermelon syrup on the next run.

Pro tip: Don't be afraid to ask your brewista for recommendations — they love helping first-timers!

How to get a drink similar to the Watermelon Lemonade at other coffee chains

How to Order

Order a Venti Strawberry Acai Refresher with lemonade instead of water. Be aware Starbucks does not offer a watermelon lemonade at all, and there is no true caffeine-free lemonade Refresher on the menu.

Key Difference

The big functional difference is caffeine. Starbucks Refreshers use green coffee extract and carry roughly 45 to 70mg of caffeine in a Venti, so they are not an option for kids or for late-evening orders. The 7 Brew Watermelon Lemonade is 0mg. The Starbucks drink also contains real freeze-dried strawberry pieces, giving it texture the 7 Brew version does not have.

Similar flavored drink
How to Order

Ask for a Medium Lemonade with watermelon syrup, no Rebel and no soda. Dutch Bros does not print a named Watermelon Lemonade, so you are custom-building it from their lemonade base plus their watermelon flavor.

Key Difference

Dutch Bros leans slightly more tart and tends to push carbonated Rebel-infused versions, while the 7 Brew build is a straightforward still lemonade with a rounder, more melon-forward syrup. Both are dairy-free and caffeine-free when ordered plain.

7 Brew Large (32oz): $5.50 or $0.17 per ounce. Starbucks Venti Refresher (24oz): roughly $6.25 or $0.26 per ounce. You get 8 more ounces for about $0.75 less at 7 Brew.

Best Time to Enjoy

This is a hot-afternoon and post-dinner drink. Because there is 0mg of caffeine in all four sizes, you can order a Large at 8pm and it will not touch your sleep - something you cannot say about a Cold Brew (156 to 335mg) or a 7 Energy (150 to 300mg) from the same menu. The 2pm to 6pm window is where it shines hardest. Summer heat, post-lunch slump, kids in the back seat, nobody needs another shot of espresso. The tart lemon base is genuinely refreshing in a way that a creamy shake or smoothie is not, because there is no dairy weight sitting on your stomach.

I have been ordering this every single day since June and I regret nothing. Half-sweet is the move - full sweet was a little much for me but at half the watermelon syrup you actually taste lemon and it is so refreshing after a shift. My favorite part is that it has zero caffeine so I can grab a Large at 7pm and still sleep. Add a half pump of coconut if you want it to taste like a Tigers Blood snow cone, that is what my crew orders now.

Solid summer drink and the price is fair for 32 ounces at $5.50. It genuinely tastes like watermelon instead of that weird bubblegum thing some places do. Only note is the sugar - 96 grams in the Large hit me pretty hard on an empty stomach and I had a crash about an hour later. Now I get the Small or ask for extra ice and light base and it is perfect. Also worth knowing it is not blended, my wife expected a slush and was surprised.

Honest take from someone who likes tart drinks: this leans sweet. The first few sips are great and then the watermelon syrup takes over and the finish tastes more like a Jolly Rancher than fruit. I tried it again at quarter-sweet with an extra squeeze of lemon and liked it much better, so I would tell people to start there. Three stars for the standard build, four if you customize it. It is still the best caffeine-free thing on the menu for my daughter.

Copycat Recipe

How to Make the Watermelon Lemonade at Home

5 minutes
Ingredients
  • 10 oz cold fresh lemonade (Simply Lemonade or 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice plus 1/3 cup simple syrup plus 6 oz water)
  • 1.5 oz (3 tablespoons) Torani Watermelon Syrup - Monin Watermelon Syrup also works and tastes slightly less candied
  • 10 oz cold filtered water
  • 3 cups ice cubes, plus more for serving
  • Optional: 0.25 oz Torani Coconut Syrup and 0.25 oz Torani Strawberry Syrup to build the Tigers Blood variation
  • Optional: 2 thin watermelon wedges and 1 lemon wheel for garnish
Instructions
1

Add the lemonade, watermelon syrup and cold water to a 32oz shaker or a large mason jar.

2

Seal and shake hard for 10 seconds. This is the step most copycat attempts skip, and it is what integrates the syrup so the last third of the cup is not twice as sweet as the first.

3

Fill a 32oz cup completely with ice, then pour the mixture over the top.

4

Taste before garnishing. If it reads too sweet, top with 2 more ounces of cold water. If it reads flat, add 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice - acidity, not more syrup, is almost always what is missing.

5

Garnish with a watermelon wedge and lemon wheel and serve immediately with a wide straw.

Lighter Version

Use sugar-free syrups and skip whipped cream to save 100-150 calories.

FAQ

Common Questions

How many calories are in a 7 Brew Watermelon Lemonade?
A 7 Brew Watermelon Lemonade ranges from 110 calories in the Kids 10oz to 390 calories in the Large 32oz. The Small 16oz has 180 calories and the popular Medium 24oz has 280 calories. Every calorie comes from carbohydrate - there is 0g fat and 0g protein in all sizes - and the sugar comes from the sweetened lemonade base plus the watermelon flavor syrup. To cut the number down, order half-sweet (a Large drops to roughly 300 calories), ask for sugar-free watermelon syrup (a Medium falls to roughly 200 to 210 calories), or request extra ice with light base, which trims about 55 calories from a Large.
Does the 7 Brew Watermelon Lemonade have caffeine?
No. The 7 Brew Watermelon Lemonade contains 0mg of caffeine in every size - Kids, Small, Medium and Large. All 7 Brew lemonades are caffeine-free because they are built from a lemonade base and flavor syrup with no espresso, cold brew, tea or energy blend involved. For context, a Large Cold Brew at 7 Brew can carry up to 335mg and a 7 Energy runs roughly 150 to 300mg, so this is one of the few Large-size orders you can safely drink in the evening. The only way to add caffeine is to request a tea infusion, which brings in about 25 to 45mg.
Is the 7 Brew Watermelon Lemonade dairy-free and vegan?
Yes to both, as ordered standard. The drink lists no allergens at all because it contains only the lemonade base, watermelon flavor syrup, water and ice - no milk, no half-and-half and no ice cream mix. This is a meaningful difference from 7 Brew smoothies and shakes, which are blended with a dairy-based ice cream mix and therefore list Milk as an allergen. If you have a severe dairy or nut allergy, it is still worth mentioning it at the window since syrup pumps and equipment are shared across the whole menu.
How much sugar is in a 7 Brew Watermelon Lemonade?
Sugar runs 26g in the Kids 10oz, 43g in the Small 16oz, 69g in the Medium 24oz, and 96g in the Large 32oz. That Large figure is roughly 24 teaspoons, about double the American Heart Association daily added-sugar limit for adults and nearly four times the 25g daily limit recommended for children. There are three effective ways to bring it down: half-sweet cuts a Large to roughly 72g, sugar-free watermelon syrup removes the syrup sugar while leaving the base sugar, and sizing from Large down to Small saves 53g of sugar and $1.55.
Is the 7 Brew Watermelon Lemonade blended or served over ice?
It is served over ice, not blended. All 7 Brew lemonades are built by combining the lemonade base with flavor syrup and water, then pouring over a full cup of ice and shaking or stirring to combine, which produces a thin, pourable, stand-style lemonade. If you want a frozen texture, you would need to order a smoothie or shake instead, though those are made with a dairy-based ice cream mix and are far higher in calories. Some locations will attempt a blended lemonade on request, but it is not a standard menu build and results vary by store.
