How to Use the Comparison Tool

The comparison tool above lets you put any two or three 7 Brew drinks next to each other and see exactly where they differ. Instead of guessing which order has fewer calories or more protein, you get the numbers laid out in a single view.

Start by clicking the + buttons to add drinks. Use the search bar to find specific items, or filter by category to browse 7 Classics, 7 Originals, smoothies, or any other menu section. You can also sort the search results by lowest calories, lowest sugar, or highest protein to quickly find drinks that match your goals.

Once you have at least two drinks selected, the tool automatically generates a comparison table, visual bar chart, quick verdict, and a cross-size calorie breakdown. Switch between Table and Bars views, toggle % Daily Value to see FDA-based percentages, or enable Diff mode (with 2 drinks) to see exact numerical differences.

What Gets Compared

The tool compares 8 nutrition and cost metrics. For most metrics, lower is better. The one exception is protein, where higher is better.

Daily Values based on FDA 2,000-calorie reference diet. Caffeine limit from FDA guidelines for healthy adults.

Why Size Changes the Winner

7 Brew offers four sizes: Kids (10 oz), Small (16 oz), Medium (24 oz), and Large (32 oz). Nutrition does not scale linearly across sizes because espresso shots and base ingredients change.

Two drinks that seem similar at Small can diverge at Large. For instance, a breve and a mocha might have nearly identical calories in a Small, but the breve (which uses half-and-half) can jump higher at Large because cream scales more aggressively than chocolate syrup.

Use the size selector in the tool to switch between sizes. The "Calorie Comparison Across All Sizes" table (shown below the main comparison) lets you see how each drink scales from Kids through Large without switching back and forth.

Tips for Smarter Comparisons

Compare across categories. Do not limit yourself to coffee vs coffee. Compare a latte against a smoothie or an energy drink. You might be surprised which category offers the lowest sugar for the same volume.

Use the % Daily Value toggle. Raw numbers can be hard to interpret. Seeing that a drink provides 40% of your daily sugar makes the impact much clearer than just reading "20g sugar."

Check the size comparison table. If you sometimes order a Medium and other times a Large, the cross-size table shows exactly where calories jump so you can decide if the upsize is worth it.

Share before ordering. Use the Share Link to send your comparison to friends or family when deciding on a group order. The link preserves all selections.

Comparison Tool FAQs

How the tool works and what the numbers mean

How does the 7 Brew drink comparison tool work?
Select 2 or 3 drinks from the full menu. The tool shows every nutrition metric side-by-side for your selected size (Kids, Small, Medium, or Large) and highlights the winner for each category. Lower is better for calories, fat, sugar, sodium, and price. Higher is better for protein.
What metrics can I compare?
The comparison covers 8 metrics: calories, caffeine (mg), total fat (g), sugar (g), protein (g), carbs (g), sodium (mg), and price. You can toggle percentage of Daily Value (%DV) to see how each drink fits into a 2,000-calorie diet. When comparing 2 drinks, the Diff toggle shows the exact numerical difference for each metric.
Can I share my drink comparison?
Yes. Every comparison generates a unique URL that includes your selected drinks and size. Click "Share Link" to copy it. Anyone who opens the link will see the exact same comparison you created.
Does the size affect the comparison results?
Significantly. You can switch between Kids (10 oz), Small (16 oz), Medium (24 oz), and Large (32 oz). All nutrition values update instantly. A Large drink can have 2 to 3 times the calories of a Kids size, so size selection changes which drink "wins" on certain metrics.
Where does the caffeine data come from?
Caffeine values are pulled from our nutrition research database, which cross-references USDA espresso extraction data with 7 Brew's published information. Espresso-based drinks get approximately 63 mg per shot (USDA data). Energy drinks use a separate base with different caffeine levels.
How accurate are the nutrition values?
Values are sourced from 7 Brew's published nutrition guide and our research database. All figures are estimates and may vary by location, ingredients, and preparation. For more detailed breakdowns with custom modifications, use the Calorie Calculator.
Why is a drink not showing in the search?
The tool searches across all current menu items. Seasonal or limited-time drinks may not appear. Try searching by the drink's exact menu name or browse by category using the category filter in the search panel.
What does the % Daily Value toggle show?
Percentage of Daily Value (%DV) shows how much of your recommended daily intake a single drink provides, based on a 2,000-calorie diet (FDA guidelines). For example, a drink with 25g sugar shows 50% DV because the daily sugar limit is 50g.
Can I compare drinks from different categories?
Yes. You can compare any combination, for example a coffee latte against a smoothie against an energy drink. The tool is not limited to same-category comparisons. This is useful for finding the lowest-calorie option across different drink types.
What is the "Overall Winner" in the Quick Verdict?
The Overall Winner is the drink that wins the most individual metrics out of 8. If Drink A has the lowest calories, fat, sugar, and price (4 wins), and Drink B has the highest protein and lowest caffeine (2 wins), Drink A is the Overall Winner. Ties on individual metrics count as no win for either drink.

Nutrition values are researched estimates. Actual values may vary by location and preparation. Daily Values based on a 2,000-calorie diet (FDA). This is not medical or dietary advice.
